This weeks reviews!!!!!

The Town

Plot
As James Coughlin (Jeremy Renner) plans his next job, a longtime thief Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) tries to balance his feelings for a bank manager connected to one of his earlier heists, as well as the FBI agent looking to bring him and his crew down.

Review
Thought it was really good and fair play to Ben Affleck as he was really good in this and I normally take the piss out of his acting.
Rebecca Hall's terrible accent was a big negative for me but luckly the relationship between her and Ben Affleck's character worked and held the film together.
Don't worry this picture isn't from the film and they really do work in the film

This allowed to give a heist film an emotinal edge over most hest films (Inception and Takers for example this year) and puts it in the same league as Michael Mann's Heat.

Jeremy Renner was fab in this film and I would be very suprised if he wasn't nominated for best supporting Oscar in 2011 for this film.

Final Word
Cracking film and should be considered during the award season even though Mark Kermode thinks different who is the best of the best to be fair in film criticism.

Takers

Plot
The film follows a group of professional bank robbers (Michael Ealy, Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen, Paul Walker, Idris Elba) who specialize in spectacular robberies, as they are pulled into one last job by a recently paroled cohort (T.I) only to be pitted against a hard-boiled detective (Matt Dillon) and his partner (Jay Hernandez) who interrupt their heist.

Review
Don't listen to the critics with this one as it's a good watch but nothing more.

Yes Hayden Christensen is in it but luckily he says very little in it.

Yes it's the old cops and robbers formula but I was entertained through out the film, the cast were great in it and the set pieces were really well done.

Final word
Good film but will be quickly forgotton as another heist film but it's worth a watch and is not a bad film as some make it out to be.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Plot
Scott Pilgrim must defeat his new girlfriend's seven evil exes in order to win her heart.(Yes it's that simple but my God so much more at the same time)

Review
Thought it was brilliant and I have no idea why it's made little money and it's been a marmite film with audiances.
Thought it was one of the most original films I have seen in ages and the video game nods were fantastic.
The fighting got a little boring at times but added humour and a great script hid this very well from me most of the time.

These two were great in it as well

The ex's in this film were all brilliant but Brandon Routh was my fav and the Vegan police had me in stitches.

I hope this doesn't hurt Edgar Wright's career as he's clearly talented as seen before with the TV show Spaced and the two hit films Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

See this man everyone...He's whats known as talented. Why isnt there more people like this man in Hollywood.

Final word
If you get a chance watch this in the cinema as it may be a flop with audiaces and money etc but it's gonna be a cult film clearly and it deserves it.

Double Take

Plot
Director Johan Grimonprez casts Alfred Hitchcock as a paranoid history professor, unwittingly caught up in a double take on the cold war period. Subverting a meticulous array of TV footage and using 'The Birds' as an essential metaphor, DOUBLE TAKE traces catastrophe culture's relentless assault on the home, from moving images' inception to the present day.

Review

Guess What!!!

It's another film from Film 4

and guess what..It was a mess and and I can't be arsed giving it a review.

Final word
Avoid
Just a mess of a film and a pretentious piece of rubbish. 40 min rule saved me again.
